Dr Pizzorno, ND, is widely considered the pioneer of integrative medicine in the US. He was appointed by President Clinton in 2000 to the White House Commission On Complementary And Alternative Medicine Policy, and by President Bush to the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee in 2002.
A physician, educator, researcher, and acclaimed speaker, Dr Pizzorno has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors for his academic, professional, and public affairs leadership. He is the co-author of the internationally acclaimed Textbook Of Natural Medicine as well as five other books. He is also founding president of Bastyr University, and the editor of Integrative Medicine: A Clinician’s Journal, and chairs the Board of Directors of the Institute For Functional Medicine.
